    The main feature of this site is a large cemetery used from the New Kingdom onwards. The tombs range from simple pits to multi-chambered tombs and shaft graves. A small Roman settlement probably also existed on the site.

 

It is endangered by encroaching urban expansion and agricultural fields, and sand is taken and used for concrete production.
