OTHER NAMES: Bani Sulayman ash-Sharqiyyah

The site was an important town during the Late Period. A Roman cemetery has also been partially excavated here, although the main town necropolis lay 2.5 km north of the site.

The high water table is a serious problem here, and damp patches of soil are visible in the northern part of the area. A dirt track crosses the site and the traffic further threatens the remains. As in most sites, there are no site boundaries clearly defined and modern housing and agriculture threatens to encroach on the site itself.
