OTHER NAMES: Tall Kafr al–Battikh

The site has not been excavated but is most likely connected to Tall al-Balamanah (e12100040) the capital of the 17th Nome of Lower Egypt. It probably dates to the Late Period and Graeco-Roman periods. An oval tomb built of red brick, 1.5 by 1 meter, and probably originally vaulted was found about 500 meters east of the actual tall. Next to the tomb were the remains of a possible Roman bath, with red brick walls. A column base and a small schist scarab were also found. Today, scattered stone fragments and potsherds are visible on the site.

The tall is threatened by urban encroachment, agricultural activities, the high water table and animal burrowing.
