OTHER NAMES: Tall al-‘Izz, Tall Salamuh, Tall Athar al-Ghuzz
The remains on the site date to the Graeco-Roman and Coptic periods and include a circular kiln, measuring 80 cm in diameter which contained traces of ashes and potsherds. Another kiln of red bricks have also been recorded (54 cm in diameter), which also contained several pots. It contained nine courses of red brick (105 cm high and 40 cm wide). Other remains include part of a hollow statue leg, potsherds with molded decoration of Bes, and bronze coins.
The brick structures are still visible in the area of the excavations. The rest of the site is now used as a playground by the local children. Salt is visible in several patches on the surface of the site.
