Tall Athar al-Magharah

REGISTERED: Yes.

OTHER NAMES: Tell Magharah

A fortress connected to Nabatean activites in the area has been found at the site, which lies on an important trade route to Qasr Witt and Pelusium (Tall al-Farama). Remains of the fortress are still visible today, and there are scattered potsherds and glass fragments in the area.

The site is threatened by the nearby quarry activities and the borders of the site are not properly delineated, leading to trucks and tractors crossing the area.
